Fleet Cleanliness

Did you know that having a clean truck and cab can result in fewer inspections and are less likely to be pulled over by police officers? Officers cannot stop every vehicle on the road; however, they are more likely to pull over a vehicle that has a cluttered dashboard and equipment that appears to be not regularly maintained. Having a dirty cab and dashboard can become a distraction and cause drivers to not stay focused solely on the road ahead. A clean cab that is well maintained and tidy will help a driver be more organized and better prepared for inspections. Regular cleanings can also reduce the amount of mold and bacteria a driver encounters.
There are numerous ways to encourage drivers to keep their vehicles clean, such as having a designated wash area on-site for drivers to use upon arrival to the company’s terminal. Subscribing to a truck washing service may also be beneficial. It may be effective to offer an incentive program to promote cleanliness. No matter how you decide to go about it, cleanliness is always worth the effort.
