Brake safety is a critical component to safe driving practices, especially among commercial motor vehicle drivers. This year’s Brake Safety Week aims to reduce the number of accidents caused by brake-related issues. Inspections will focus on the brake systems of commercial motor vehicles including hydraulic and air-brake systems. Inspectors will check for any brake-related violations including worn or damaged components, out-of-adjustment brakes and brake-system leaks.
Any commercial vehicle found to have critical brake-related violations will be placed out-of-service until the issue is resolved. Drivers found to be operating a vehicle with critical brake-related violations may face penalties or fines. Proper brake maintenance can save lives and prevent accidents from happening. We urge all commercial motor vehicle drivers to ensure their brake systems are fully functional and in compliance with safety regulations.
The goal of Brake Safety Week is to reduce the number of accidents caused by brake-related issues and to promote safe driving practices. It is an important event for promoting safety on the roads and highways for all drivers.
